not sure what discussions have gone on about the zone diet, but if anyone cares, here's my diet:
0730: protein shake, coffee!
0900: 1/3 cup of oatmeal, 9 almonds
1100: 2 oz. cheddar cheese, 6 almonds, 1 apple
1230: 2 pieces of bread, 2 oz cheese, 1 tablespoon mayo, 2 oz ham, 12 almonds
1430: 1 banana, 2 tablespoons of peanut butter
post-WOD: 2:1 carb/protein shake
1930: 3 oz chicken, 4 cups mixed veggies, 3 almonds
2000: 2 hard boiled eggs
all day: lots of water!
then i wake up in the middle of the night and drink a gallon of whole milk...
just kiddin'...
on the weekends i splurge. usually friday nights dinner is whatever i feel like having. saturday and sunday's breakfast is some sort of fried egg concauction. lunch and dinner can be anything. i still try to keep the sugar out of everything but my portions aren't very strictly controlled.
so far it's worked ok. my performance has improved (over the last 3 or 4 months i have continuously PR'd on benchmark wods) and my weight has gone from 192ish to 174ish. i'm happy.
