"At first I though it was for Navy Seal type guys and scared the hell out of me. But it's not. It's something different everyday and that was the most important thing because hitting the Y 5 days a week doing my own thing obviously wasn't working. CrossFit provides Competition, Camaraderie, Guidance, RESULTS.Competing against the clock is great, and also you can see how men and women who are in much better shape then you did, against the clock. It gives you a look into the future; if I stick w/ GBCC I will complete a certain WOD in that amount of time. It seems I have 4 new goals a week. Mike and Katrina really help out on showing the correct form and optimal way to complete a certain move or lift. You don't get that at the Y, if so you pay for it. Fitness is defined at GBCC. At your regular gym hitting the weights 3-4 times a week and cardio 3-4 times a week. Are you burning calories?YES. Are you getting stronger? MAYBE Are you getting FIT? No you are not! With Crossfit, you burn calories, you get stronger, you increase mobility, you increase flexibility and if you add all of that together, you become fit. I look forward to it everyday! I've lost 22lbs since JAN 1. I can run farther w/o taking a break.I'm stronger and definitely more fit. It's great.Everyone is pulling for you. Just remember, everyone else is enduring the same pain you are, even the really fit men and women, it's not easy. EASY DOESN'T GET RESULTS!Just push through it and results are on the other side."
